A question deserves a thoughtful response
Behind a message there may be curiosity, a study question or a concern that is difficult to put into words. At The Method Files, we try to distinguish these situations before replying. A question about a grimoire is different from asking for help because someone has threatened you. Both deserve respect; each needs an appropriate response.
We want you to be able to ask questions without feeling ridiculed. We will not judge you for being interested in a tradition, for your beliefs or for the words you use to explain what is happening to you.
What we can help clarify
Our work is educational and based on documentary sources. We can explain TMF’s approach, clarify the context of our materials and point to sources that help you understand a subject. When an answer depends on an interpretation, we must present it as such. When we do not know something or cannot verify it, we must say so.
We also distinguish between describing a belief and confirming that it explains a personal experience. Studying what an author wrote about spirits can be valuable; telling someone that a supernatural presence is affecting them on the basis of an email would go beyond what we can know.
When seeking help matters most
If you tell us that you are suffering, our priority will be to help you find an appropriate next step. You do not need to defend your beliefs to us or prove an extraordinary explanation for us to take your concern seriously.
TMF does not provide diagnoses, therapy or ongoing crisis support. When an enquiry requires a health assessment, we will recommend qualified professionals. That guidance is not intended to diminish your interests: it recognises that an academy and a health service have different roles.
Our email is not monitored continuously and is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, contact the emergency services in the country where you are. Do not wait for our reply. On I need help you will find guidance and resources, including the distinctions between Spain, the European Union and other countries.
Fear is not a sales pitch
We will not recommend that you buy a course, a pact or protection to resolve a health crisis. Nor will we make basic guidance conditional on being a learner or having paid for any material.
A responsible response must not threaten you with misfortune, assign supernatural blame to you or promise that everything will be resolved if you follow our instructions. Our commitment is to offer clear information, recognise the limits of what we know and respect your ability to decide.
If you tell us that someone else is pressuring you or demanding money, we will not shame you for having trusted them. We can point you towards official sources of guidance, without guaranteeing an outcome that is beyond our control.
You do not need to share private details with us
For a question about our content, it is usually enough to tell us which page or material you are reading and what you would like clarified. If your message concerns a personal worry, you can explain it briefly in your own words.
Do not send us medical reports, identity documents, intimate images or recordings to prove what is happening to you. Our inbox is not intended to collect clinical records or assess personal experiences. Information needed for a healthcare appointment should be discussed with the service or professional caring for you.
A relationship based on respect
We want our response to be clear, proportionate to the question and honest about what we can do. If we have misunderstood your enquiry, you can clarify it; if the matter calls for a different kind of support, we must explain that without contempt or false promises.
This commitment is part of our approach to teaching. You can read about it in Explore with discernment. And if you have come here because you are afraid or need support, you can go straight to I need help, without reading the rest of these pages first.
